Finally getting around to sharing some layouts. For 2016, I’ve been using the WRMK 8.5×11 faux leather grey album. I have some divided page protectors I’ve been using. Now that I have the fuse tool, I am hoping to make some more variations.
As always I kept it simple. I’ve been loving adding in memorabilia and using pieces of it as background, even the paper they wrap food in! Anything from tickets, parking passes, subway tickets, bags, wrist bands, receipts, napkins, business cards, postcards, etc. I actually really like that part of scrapbooking most, preserving the artifacts. Trying to remember this as I go along.
The top 2 photos of the layout is actually the end of our weekend in Baltimore. I just continued with my photos and notes as the month went on. The Currently journaling was taken from my blog post and I just varied up the text color a bit. Most of my other journaling was taken from Instagram posts. It’s nice to have that to reference to after some time passes.
For these layouts below, the bright blue sky was so present in my photos that I sort of stuck with that color theme with everything else. I don’t usually try to hard to do this, it sort of pops naturally.
For the journaling I used my typewriter on the back of a brown paper bag.
I feel good about where I’m at with documenting 2016. I have a bit of March to do and then April. It will depend on if I print the photos myself at home or place an order (which I usually only do when there is a sale).
I recently was on a work trip and just did my scrapping right in my bullet journal (while I waited at the airport). It was nice to get it done and because it’s just solo travel for work, I didn’t want to spend a ton of time on it. I kept my Cubs game ticket and one other menu to add into my regular album which I will do with a photo or 2.
I used to sort of want to always stick to the chronology by keeping things in one place (hence my mixed layout sizes in one album), but I sort of like the traveler’s style notebooks, and doing an occasional mini album. We will see in a few weeks how much I like doing WITL in a separate album.
How is your 2016 documenting going? Are you participating in WITL?
