There is really no rhyme or reason to my creative mojo, so I just try to roll with the ebb & flow. Disclaimer: I apologize for the grainy photos but it was overcast & this is as good as it gets sometimes folks.
I had this sort of rough idea of what I wanted to try for November, and following along Cathy Zielske style with her #30daysofthankful project.
I am using it (not always) as an opportunity to scroll back thru my photos and document some minor stories or things I may normally look over when scrapping the year. I surprised myself at how fluid this felt, and it was so easy to quickly post on Instagram or jot the story down in Day One app to scrap later.
I decided to use Cathy Z’s Hybrid Helper templates I purchased from Designer Digitals a while back. For this layout I used No. 02, which you can find here. Be sure to check out her other versions too. I love her clean, streamlined design which keeps this layout super simple.
I worked with it in Photoshop Elements, some items I switched around a bit for my layout. It’s fairly easy to do if you are familiar with working in Layers.
I printed the layout onto Canon Matte photo paper.*Just a note: there is a right side to this paper and it is a little brighter white than the other side.
I generally add some sort of dimension to all of my pages, so I cut around the photos, then attached to another piece of white cardstock. I have a cheaper pack of Recollections cardstock, but you could also just add a scrap piece of paper that will cover up the hole on the base page. (sorry, I forgot to take pics in between, it was early ;)) Then added some dimensional adhesive to the photos and placed back in the same spot.
I added the wood veneer heart to the center and may change that up as I do more pages. I still need to add the numbers to the photos, but haven’t decided on which to use yet.
I also am considering adding either a brushstroke of Tombow marker or some washi tape for in between the title & journaling.
Realize the mug looks washed out here, it says Eat Cake for Breakfast.
Thanks for checking it out.
Are you doing #30daysofthankful? What is your approach?
