The closer the warmer season gets, the faster the weeks seem to fly by for me.
This week was highlighted by a mid-week day off and trip to NYC. My Mom and I are ridiculous when it comes to our plans for day trips. We squeeze it all in! Last year we stayed overnight one night, saw Wicked, went to a taping of the View and saw Les Miserables.
We took it down a notch this year, but managed to squeeze two shows in one day. After a long morning due to train delays, we just made it to the Radio City Music Hall Rockette’s Spring Spectacular show. It was a fantastic show, although some critics labeled it an advertisement for NYC, I thought it was actually a good fit for an average tourist. I appreciated the details and creative set designs, and of course the dancing. Unfortunately because he was hurt, Derek Hough wasn’t in this show, but his understudy did a great job and it was a cute story overall.
A quick bite to eat at Evergreen diner, one of my go-to places, then we were back on Broadway to see Finding Neverland. I’ve been waiting for this one to come to life for a few years now, eagerly watching the headlines. I got tickets as soon as they were released and could not wait.
Then to top it off, was able to experience the talented Matthew Morrison as J.M. Barrie, and established actor, Kelsey Grammar as Charles Frohman.
It was magical and I highly recommend it! The child actors were adorable and so talented.
It even inspired me to use the topic of theater and attending Broadway shows as my focus for a story layout in Type class. I am hoping to work on that tonight and get a digital layout finished.
Tomorrow is iNSD! I don’t have any plans, but will place an order for prints from Persnickety Prints. I’ve had a backlog of digital and hybrid layouts waiting for the sale!
