The weekend was busy & all I could do was take photos and jot down notes here and there. I didn’t really end up using the worksheets much this week. I’ve started thinking about how I want to get this project into the album, more on that to come.
Large unedited photos + words for Saturday:
It has been a tough spring for getting outside. With my party next week, this was going to be jam packed weekend to get things ready.
We were up & out of the house before 8, coffees in hand. We share a love of rummaging thru estate sales and findings at yard sales. We don’t really need or collect anything. We look for practical things. This was a big weekend where several neighboring towns were having sales. We knew we had to get to our tasks around the house, so we didn’t go to as many as maybe we would have.
$1 rake // 25 cents for a bag of rocks – to use in my fairy garden // $2.50 for embroidery hoops – see decor later // $10 – for a practically brand new, pack & play for my friends visiting from Europe // $1 glass jar for cotton balls
A pit stop for a breakfast sandwich at the local little breakfast joint in town.
Another pit stop home, more errands. Then back out to the garden center. We tried one closer to us, but the prices were too high, so 20 minute drive south to our favorite farmstand. (I forgot to take a photo until we were pulling out – this has happened too often this week!)
Vegetables // herbs // hanging baskets // snapdragons // dahlias // mulch // knockout roses // kale // salvage tomatoes // cantaloupe
Home and unload the car. It was already getting cloudy again, the weather called for rain later today. Digging and turning over.
I washed out my pots. Most are terracotta or ceramic and all yard sale finds for a few dollars.
I was simultaneously working on mini elements for my fairy garden. Painting some things & figuring out how to manufacture other items out of what I have on hand in the garage.
The dark clouds were rolling in, so we brought things into the garage or up against the house. Somewhat defeated we opted for the last few beers in the fridge. We haven’t bought any in a while because we usually do large stock ups and it lasts a few months.
The frozen mug was the perfect touch after being on the go all day.
We had no real plan for dinner so grilled cheese on marble rye & leftover salad.
We jammed out to Little Big Town and some classic Americana rock for a bit. The rain came through then cleared. Back outside to dig out the area for my fairy garden. It was easier since the ground was wet.
Exhausted. Finally time for a shower. I was so thirsty I had some coconut water with crushed ice, then went to bed.
I want to remember even though it’s a lot of work, I thrive when I am on the go with a lot to do.
FYI I’m having issues with my mobile site compatibility for photos, trying to solve that.
